It maintains a steady pump discharge pressure within system capabilities by controlling the engine speed or holds a selected engine RPM.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis model regulates pump pressure based on the discharge pressure only.  This  type of governor is very common in the fire service and will serve perfectly well in most cases.  The \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.fireresearch.com\/product.php?id=pba400\"\u003ePumpBoss 400\u003c\/a\u003e can monitor both the pump intake and discharge pressure providing  improved defense against pump cavitations.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe \u003cstrong\u003ePumpBoss 200\u003c\/strong\u003e governor has a 4-digit LED display for engine RPM, four  LED bar graphs that provide a constant display of the engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature, transmission temperature, and battery voltage. The PumpBoss has a message display that shows the pressure or RPM  setting during normal operations and fault warning alarms as they occur.  When selected by the operator it will show monitored information, stored data,  and program options.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eHow does it work?\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIn pressure mode the governor maintains a constant pump discharge pressure. The discharge pressure is monitored and compared to the selected pressure setting, the engine RPM is varied to keep the discharge pressure at the selected setting.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIn RPM mode the governor maintains a constant engine RPM. The pump discharge pressure is monitored, it can vary but is limited to an increase of 30 PSI.
